Description
The Feuling Parts Race Series® Short-Travel Hydraulic Lifters feature a revolutionary design with only 0.115" of total travel, compared to the 0.200" of a full-travel lifter. This reduction in travel significantly increases RPM by minimizing valve float and valve-train harmonics, while maintaining a quiet engine. The reduced travel also decreases the amount of oil needed inside the lifter, mitigating oil aeration—a common cause of noisy and poor performance when the pushrod seat drops due to aeration on steep cam lobe ramps. These lifters are machined from a robust steel body, designed to withstand the demands of large lift camshafts and higher valve spring pressures, and feature a slower bleed-down rate. Compatible with Feuling® HP+® or Race Series® oil pumps, these lifters ensure proper oil flow to the top end, further enhancing engine RPM, valve-train stability, and maximizing valve lift.

Important to know
Feuling® recommends setting these short-travel lifters with 0.065" - 0.070" of pre-load. Normal engine growth from heat will place the operating lifter pre-load at approximately half travel. Feuling® recommends pumping up each lifter by hand prior to installation to remove all air and ensure a fully pumped-up lifter (using a thin weight oil like ATF works well). These Race Series® lifters are recommended for engines running higher than 185 lb (84 kg) valve spring seat pressure. Feuling® also advises using a high-volume oil pump for quieter and better lifter performance.
