The S&S 585G gear drive camshaft kit is designed to maximize valve timing accuracy, eliminating chain lash for improved engine performance. This kit is specifically designed for engines with compression ratios between 10.0:1 and 10.5:1. The innovative design reverses the rear cam's rotation, providing increased clearance between cam lobes, which allows for higher cam lifts and optimized valve timing. Important to know

Installation requires removing material from the inner surface of the stock gear cover. A hydraulic press and other professional-level tools are required for installation. S&S recommends using adjustable pushrods/covers. Cam bearings and gaskets must be replaced when installing new cams. The installer must check coil bind, valve-to-valve clearance, and valve-to-piston clearance. Due to the inherent characteristics of gear drives, more valve train noise may occur. Kit includes camshafts, inner gears, outer gears, inner bearings, outer bearings, gasket and instructions. Cam bearings and gaskets are not included and must be replaced.
